New York Islanders celebrate Stanley Cup The Stanley Cup Champions New York Islanders were celebrated in their hometown with grand festivities today. The Stanley Cup was driven through the town in a parade and the fans were chanting the team's name every time captain Brett Connolly lifted the Cup above his head.
The mayor of the town greeted the players on a stage with the media surrounding them as masses of loyal New York Islanders fans chanted the names of Jim Keefe and Burke Muni.
It's one hell of a feeling, something I'd like to feel again next year, said Brett Connolly.
